frequently asked questions / general information
what options are there for funding or partial-funding of sessions with Simply Therapy?
EAP funded / partially funded sessions
- Find out if your employer offers an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). Most provide 3 funded sessions, some will provide more (often 6 – 8).
- I am contracted to OCP to deliver EAP services to their clients.
- I am a registered provider with Clearhead to deliver EAP-funded services to employees of those organisations who have partnered with Clearhead for their EAP service bookings.
Aoake te Rā – bereaved by suicide support service
- Aoake te Rā is a ‘postvention’ service that offers a network of specially trained, registered providers across New Zealand, who are contracted to support individuals, whānau, and organisations needing focused help following a death by suicide.
- The service is:
- Free, and available nationwide (online-only in some areas). It continues to be fully funded by the Ministry of Health
- Provides Brief Therapeutic Support (from 6 to 10 hours/sessions of support)
- Available to all ages, at any time following loss
- Available to anyone affected by a death by suicide (whānau, friends, colleagues, discoverer, communities)
- Available face-to-face, online, phone or a combination of all three modes of contact
- You can Self-Refer to this service – you do not need to go through your GP
- The Intake Team will help you find the right provider, or show you how to select your own in your own time.
- Like many of the providers, I have lived experience of being bereaved by suicide more than once. This is not a requirement of Aoake te Rā providers, but I find that many of the clients who request me when choosing who they wish to work with, have felt this was important to them. To date, I have been a contracted provider to Aoake te Rā for over 4 years now. You can find my Aoake te Rā listing here…
Health Insurance – fully or partially funded sessions
- Depending on which Health Insurance provider you are with, and the type of policy you hold, you may be entitled to an annual allowance for mental health or wellbeing service.
- I am an approved registered provider with nib Health Insurance . Please check your policy or contact nib directly to find out if your policy has an annual allowance for mental health /counselling sessions.
- I also provide counselling/therapy services via Clearhead to employees of companies who use Unimed as their Workplace Medical Health Insurance provider.
- Please note that Unimed imposes a strict limit on how much they will fund per session which may be below some of our service rates (eg: couple/relationship therapy). If you choose one of these services and there is a shortfall, you will be contacted and given a choice to either be invoiced for the shortfall (usually between $10 – $40, depending on the service chosen), or to choose a lower-cost provider via Clearhead.
